La Mondotte is a small, 4.5ha estate in Saint-Emilion owned by the von Niepperg family, better known for Canon-la-Gaffeliere. Work on La Mondotte started in earnest in the mid 1990s, with a move to organic farming using bio-dynamic principles. In 2012 the wine was moved to Premier Grand Cru Classé status. The vineyard, located just east of the plateau is planted 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.
