Description

Clos Fourtet’s vineyards sit atop Saint-Emilion’s limestone plateau, just on the edge of the village. The 20ha vineyard is planted 85% to Merlot, 10% to Cabernet Franc and 5% to Cabernet Sauvignon on clay and limestone soils. The majority of the vineyards were planted as recently as 1991, due to which the quality is expected to improve over the next vintages as the vines reach maturity. Under the Cuvelier stewardship the wines are improving thanks to a no expense spared attitude held by the family.
