Description
Fonplegade is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux, with Roman remains on the property dating back to AD 400 and its name inspired by the natural springs in the vineyard. The estate has been owned since 2004 by Americans Stephen and Denise Adams, who have spent much money restoring the château and putting winemaking back to its rightful quality. The vineyards are some of the best in the region combining plantings on the côte and the plateau, both south-facing. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 2017 and turned biodynamic from 2020.
