Description
Château Gazin is located on the north-eastern part of the Pomerol plateau, between Châteaux Petrus, l’Evangile and Lafleur-Gazin, on a terroir of Gunzian gravel with a subsoil of blue and green clay. The vineyard is managed with an environmentally friendly approachincluding organic fertilizers and minimum use of pesticides. The Bailliencourt family who own the property has a rich history dating back to the 11th century. Gazin is large for a property in Pomerol, with 26 hectares, planted 90% to Merlot and the balance to the Cabernets. Quite uniquely for the region, the vineyard is planted in one block.
